The humble avocado is one of the few foods that contains every single vitamin and nutrient we need to feasibly survive on.
Applying cool avocado directly on your face is a wonderful, natural beauty treatment. It hydrates and nourishes the skin without causing irritation. Suitable for all skin types, this wonderful avocado face mask is particularly beneficial for dry and dehydrated skin. The monounsaturated fats in avocado are brilliant for improving skin tone. These fats are vital for maintaining good moisture levels in the epidermal layer of your skin leaving it looking and feeling soft and healthy. Omega-9 fats can also reduce skin redness and irritation and helps repair damaged skin cells.
Eating avocado regularly can also do wonders for your complexion. Whether added to salad, whipped into a fresh guacamole or blended into a creamy, sweet mousse – there are so many delicious avocado recipe options. Not only are avocados high in fibre, they’re sodium and cholesterol free. They hold over 20 essential nutrients, they’re rich in healthy monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats – the “good” kind that actually lower cholesterol levels (such as omega-3 and 6 fatty acids). Avocados are crammed with vitamins including A, B, C, D, E, and K, plus they’re rich in potassium.
I hate applying chemicals to my skin. Read the back of a standard face mask packet and chances are there will be a long list of chemical ingredients you’ve never even heard of. Making natural alternatives at home not only works out cheaper, you know exactly what’s gone into them and in turn on to your skin.
This natural avocado face mask is one of my absolute favourites and it’s so full of natural goodness, it’s literally good enough to eat! A combination of soothing, cooling avocado, healthy raw honey, and zingy lime – it’s so simple to make and offers a lovely hydrating face mask. Each ingredient adds unique properties that work together to provide nutrients and antioxidants directly to your skin. This little beauty will leave your face feeling smooth, nourished and soothed.
